Vision

Novo Nordisk, a global leader in healthcare, sought to create intelligent and efficient workspaces within their Bengaluru facilities. Their goal was to leverage the power of the Internet of Things (IoT) to optimize building operations, enhance employee experience, and contribute to their sustainability objectives.

Location: Cignus, Whitefield, Bengaluru
Area: 160,000 sqft

Key objectives included:

  • Data-Driven Efficiency: Gaining real-time insights into energy consumption and space utilization to drive cost savings and operational improvements.
  • Enhanced User Experience: Creating a comfortable, productive, and seamless environment for employees and visitors through smart space management and visitor handling.
  • Sustainability: Monitoring and reducing energy consumption to align with green building standards and lower their environmental impact.
  • Future-Ready Infrastructure: Implementing a scalable and integrated technology platform to support future growth and innovation in facility management.

Solutions

A key aspect of the integration is the Integrated Dashboard, helping facility managers to view all different aspects of the building such as Energy consumption, Indoor Air Quality levels, Occupancy etc. on a single platform and have a bird’s eye view of the campus.

Energy Monitoring & Control

Real-time dashboard providing comprehensive visibility into energy consumption (kWh, billing) across all levels (facility, building, service). Includes automated anomaly detection with alerts, occupancy-based power analysis, historical trends, power density tracking for green compliance, and carbon emission savings analysis. Monitors IAQ, lighting, and temperature for occupant well-being, and alerts for the facility team.

Smart Space Management

Employs BLE mesh-based desk occupancy sensors for real-time presence detection. Enables efficient workspace management, space utilization heatmaps, and desk utilization index analysis for optimal space allocation across ten different teams spread across 4 floors.

No Camera Sensor, Completely Wireless, Upto 98% Accuracy

Visitor Management System

Supports various visitor initiation modes (employee, kiosk, pre-registration) with touchless check-in via QR codes for a seamless and secure guest experience.

Results

  • Enhanced Energy Efficiency: Real-time monitoring enabled identification and correction of inefficiencies, leading to energy savings and a reduced carbon footprint.
  • Optimized Space Utilization: Data-driven insights improved resource allocation, potentially decreasing the need for excess space and increasing workplace agility.
  • Improved User Experience: Desk booking and better environmental conditions fostered a more productive and satisfying experience for employees.
  • Streamlined Visitor Process: The modern visitor management system enhanced the visitor experience and strengthened security.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Comprehensive data on energy and space usage supports informed planning and facility optimization.
  • Future-Ready Infrastructure: The scalable IoT platform provides a foundation for ongoing smart building innovation.
  • Robust Technology Foundation: Built on a scalable cloud platform with secure integration into existing Building (BMS), Energy (EMS), HVAC, and Lighting (LMS) systems via open protocols (BACnet, MQTT, APIs) ensures a secure and isolated network for building operations.
